Hi! I’m Bertie, a confident, energetic, social and larger-than-life boy looking for a home.
I’ve been at the shelter for a very long time – since 2019. I was rushed here after someone threw boiling water across my back. I suffered third-degree burns in the attack and still bear the scars to this day.
However, I’m not one to dwell on the past because there’s so much fun to be had in the present! I make the very most of my days – going for long walks, making friends and burning energy in the off-lead areas. And at 38kg, I have a lot of energy to burn!
Affectionate, fun and full of love, you truly couldn’t ask for a better companion than me. So why haven’t I been snapped up by a family yet? Well, I need quite a specific home that’s proving tricky to find – namely a home with no other dogs, cats or young children. In other words, I need to be someone’s one and only.

THE ADOPTION PROCESS
Adopting from Soi Dog Foundation is one of the most effective ways to support our work, as each adoption creates the space we need to help another animal in need. It is also incredibly rewarding to give an animal the chance to experience the love and security they so desperately deserve.
Initial enquiry
Submit an adoption enquiry, answering some initial questions about your family, lifestyle and ideal companion.
Interview
Join a video call with one of our adoption coordinators to help find your perfect match. Discuss the dog’s medical history, behavioural needs and more.
Home Assessment
Complete a home visit – either in person or virtually – with one of our staff or volunteers to ensure you have everything in place to welcome a rescue dog.
Adoption agreement
Sign the adoption agreement, confirming your commitment to the care of your chosen dog.
Travel arrangements
Let our logistics team arrange your dog’s journey to you. Collect your new best friend from a pre-arranged location and enjoy a lifetime of happiness together!
