Hi! I’m Petula, a cautious, gentle and shy boy looking for a home.
Add me to the long list of dogs who arrived at Soi Dog after meeting with a road traffic accident. My injuries were quite severe – two fractured femurs and a dislocated pelvis – but not to the extent that I had to lose a leg as many other dogs do. The vets managed to put my bones back together with plates and screws and make me almost as good as new.
When I first arrived, I was extremely nervous. But with the help of Soi Dog’s behaviour team, I’ve made excellent progress. I used to hide from people, but these days I’m more eager to go on walks and explore.
I’m still skittish around strangers and wary of new environments though, so I ask for your patience as I slowly grow in confidence and make a meaningful connection with you. Those who have taken the time to get to know me will attest to the fact that I have huge potential to love, to be goofy and to be a great companion. Will you give me a chance to be the best I can be?
THE ADOPTION PROCESS
Adopting from Soi Dog Foundation is one of the most effective ways to support our work, as each adoption creates the space we need to help another animal in need. It is also incredibly rewarding to give an animal the chance to experience the love and security they so desperately deserve.
Initial enquiry
Submit an adoption enquiry, answering some initial questions about your family, lifestyle and ideal companion.
Interview
Join a video call with one of our adoption coordinators to help find your perfect match. Discuss the dog’s medical history, behavioural needs and more.
Home Assessment
Complete a home visit – either in person or virtually – with one of our staff or volunteers to ensure you have everything in place to welcome a rescue dog.
Adoption agreement
Sign the adoption agreement, confirming your commitment to the care of your chosen dog.
Travel arrangements
Let our logistics team arrange your dog’s journey to you. Collect your new best friend from a pre-arranged location and enjoy a lifetime of happiness together!
