Hi! I’m Plessala, a sweet, gentle and shy girl looking for a home.
My brother and I were found living on a small island near Phuket. Sadly, dogs weren’t welcome on the island, and our mother wasn’t around to protect us from danger. Our saviours were some kind passing tourists who brought us by boat to the safety of the Soi Dog shelter.
“As they are super cute, they seem to have a good chance for adoption,” said the kind tourists. Well, they were right about the cute part! But while my brother has been adopted, I’m still here waiting for my chance.
I think it’s my shyness that’s holding me back. You see, while I’m super sweet and friendly with visitors in my enclosure, I become very nervous as soon as I step outside. Sometimes I’m too frightened to walk and need to be carried instead. Luckily, I’m small, so it’s easy to pick me up!
I’m working closely with my behaviourist Eve – who can you see in the photos above – to build my confidence and am making steady progress. I hope you see the potential that lies behind my cute face and enquire!
THE ADOPTION PROCESS

Submit an adoption enquiry, answering some initial questions about your family, lifestyle and ideal companion.
Interview
Join a video call with one of our adoption coordinators to help find your perfect match. Discuss the dog’s medical history, behavioural needs and more.
Home Assessment
Complete a home visit – either in person or virtually – with one of our staff or volunteers to ensure you have everything in place to welcome a rescue dog.
Adoption agreement
Sign the adoption agreement, confirming your commitment to the care of your chosen dog.
Travel arrangements
Let our logistics team arrange your dog’s journey to you. Collect your new best friend from a pre-arranged location and enjoy a lifetime of happiness together!
