Hi! I’m Brown Jay, an adventurous, confident and energetic boy looking for a home.
Life on the streets can be tough, but when you’re blind, it’s a thousand times tougher. And sadly, I know this from experience. Unable to see the dangers around me, I wandered into an area where I wasn’t welcome one day. Luckily, someone alerted Soi Dog before I could come to any harm.
At the shelter, the vets diagnosed me with a long list of ocular issues and decided my eyes should be removed. I felt much better after the surgery as my eyes had been causing me pain.
You might expect a blind dog who’s gone through so much to be shy or wary of humans, but not me! I’m a super friendly boy who likes to jump up and say hello to people, even if I’m meeting them for the first time. I’m confident on my walks, too, and enjoy going to the off-lead areas to explore.
I’m searching for a family to explore with. A family that’s always up for having fun with me, while being mindful of my blindness and keeping me safe at the same time. I'd do best without any young children though. If this sounds like you, please enquire!
THE ADOPTION PROCESS

Initial enquiry
Submit an adoption enquiry, answering some initial questions about your family, lifestyle and ideal companion.
Interview
Join a video call with one of our adoption coordinators to help find your perfect match. Discuss the dog’s medical history, behavioural needs and more.
Home Assessment
Complete a home visit – either in person or virtually – with one of our staff or volunteers to ensure you have everything in place to welcome a rescue dog.
Adoption agreement
Sign the adoption agreement, confirming your commitment to the care of your chosen dog.
Travel arrangements
Let our logistics team arrange your dog’s journey to you. Collect your new best friend from a pre-arranged location and enjoy a lifetime of happiness together!
