We Fight The Dog And Cat Meat Trade.
We ended it in Thailand. Now we're fighting across Asia. And we won't stop until this cruel trade is gone forever.

What We Do
Soi Dog programmes
Our dedicated team of rescue officers help thousands of animals in need each year, working seven days a week to ensure every report of an animal in need is responded to as swiftly as possible.
We provide high quality treatment for hundreds of sick and injured stray dogs and cats in our shelter hospitals, while our outreach programme cares for stray animals in the heart of the community.
Our world-leading CNVR programme is reducing the number of animals born into a life of suffering on the streets and helping to eliminate rabies, benefitting animal and human communities alike.
Instrumental in ending the horrendous dog meat trade in Thailand, we continue to work to end the trade in other Southeast Asian countries where it is prevalent.
Spread across 12 acres, the Gill Dalley Sanctuary in Phuket is home to over 1,800 dogs and cats. Here, they receive the physical and emotional rehabilitation they need to help prepare them for adoption.
We adopt both locally and internationally – finding loving homes for deserving dogs and cats rescued from dire conditions on the streets. We also collaborate with several like-minded rehoming organisations in the USA and Europe through our partner rescue programme.
We run humane education, community liaison and outreach programmes, working in communities to help improve the welfare of both stray and domestic animals.
We help stray animals affected by man-made or natural disasters across the region and are regularly called upon to provide food, rescue and emergency aid to animals affected by monsoon rains.
Support Our Mission Today
Since 2003 we’ve been transforming the lives of homeless dogs and cats in Asia through a holistic approach.
From rescue, medical treatment and large-scale spay/neuter and vaccination to the rehabilitation and rehoming of thousands of dogs and cats saved from dire situations and the horrendous dog and cat meat trade, we won’t stop until there is no more suffering of homeless animals. It’s only possible thanks to the support of animal lovers like you.
Will you help vulnerable dogs and cats by joining in support of our mission?
Our holistic approach
Dogs and cats rescued from the meat trade (all time)
Animals neutered and vaccinated (all time)
Sick and injured animals treated last year
New animals provided with shelter last year

Adoption Hub
Adopting is one of the most effective ways to support Soi Dog’s work. To give a rescued animal the chance to feel the love and security they deserve is hugely rewarding, and each adoption creates the critical space needed to help the next animal in need.
The process of adopting from Thailand is much easier than you might think, and Soi Dog will be there every step of the way.
Give hope to a furry friend in need. By becoming a sponsor, you provide essential care, comfort, and love to rescued animals on their journey to healing. Whether it's a playful pup or gentle cat, your support helps transform lives - one paw at a time.
Become a volunteer
We welcome volunteers from all over the world to our sanctuary in Phuket, Thailand, and they play a hugely important role in the socialisation of the animals in our care.
Enrichment for our sanctuary residents is one of the key factors to maintaining their wellbeing and, for dogs who spend most of their lives sharing a large enclosure with up to 25 other dogs, the time they spend outside of their enclosure is so valuable to them.
Over 1000 volunteers enjoy this experience every year and there’s something here for everyone. Whether you like the rough and tumble of the main dog enclosures, the peace and tranquility with our senior dogs, or the feline touch in our cattery – you can be sure to find some amazing animals to spend your time with at Soi Dog.
There are also opportunities to get involved as a volunteer within your home country but joining our global community.
