Trustee of Soi Dog UK CIO
After my children left for university, working intensely in the property market I wanted to take my first solo trip and saw a social media post from (then) Rachel who was the volunteer coordinator asking if anyone was travelling near Phuket that week as they were short of volunteers. That was Tuesday March 2017 and I found myself sat in my seat waiting for take off to Phuket on the Saturday.
I felt so at home at the Gill Dalley sanctuary the first time I went. The feeling of being part of something huge but was also so close knit and friendly. I have made friends allover the world whom I’m still in contact with. Obviously I fell in love with far too many dogs to be able to take them all home but I did extend my trip by another week. I couldn’t tell enough people about Soi Dog Foundation and the amazing work they do. Lots of friends have now been including my daughter who also loved it as much as I did.
I started to visit more and more and for longer periods. I fell in love with my little boy Mowgli in 2018 and he’s been with me since February 2019. I can’t thank the team of hard working people at SDF enough for helping him from a terrible situation.
