Hi! I’m Zellweger, a curious, gentle and playful girl looking for a home.
I had a terribly tough start to life. Before I even reached my first birthday, my spine was fractured in a road traffic accident. I was rushed to the Soi Dog shelter and, incredibly, they were able to help me walk again. They call it physiotherapy, but I call it a miracle!
While I’ve come a long way, I will always be partially paralysed, with weakened hind legs and difficulty controlling my bladder. However, this doesn’t stop me from enjoying my life, and it’s certainly no barrier to me finding a loving home.
In the meantime, I wait here at the shelter. Although I’m a youngster, I live in an enclosure made up exclusively of senior dogs as the slower pace suits me better with my disability. It’s a beautiful arrangement – I keep them young and sprightly while they raise me and teach me manners!
I’m growing in confidence with each new day and am ready to be star of the show, just like the actress I’m named after! Please enquire if you can offer me a home. While I have my physical limitations, there’s no limit to the amount of love I have to give.
THE ADOPTION PROCESS
Adopting from Soi Dog Foundation is one of the most effective ways to support our work, as each adoption creates the space we need to help another animal in need. It is also incredibly rewarding to give an animal the chance to experience the love and security they so desperately deserve.
Initial enquiry
Submit an adoption enquiry, answering some initial questions about your family, lifestyle and ideal companion.
Interview
Join a video call with one of our adoption coordinators to help find your perfect match. Discuss the dog’s medical history, behavioural needs and more.
Home Assessment
Complete a home visit – either in person or virtually – with one of our staff or volunteers to ensure you have everything in place to welcome a rescue dog.
Adoption agreement
Sign the adoption agreement, confirming your commitment to the care of your chosen dog.
Travel arrangements
Let our logistics team arrange your dog’s journey to you. Collect your new best friend from a pre-arranged location and enjoy a lifetime of happiness together!
