A sweet senior with soulful eyes
Hi! I’m Fontina, a cautious, gentle and sweet girl looking for a home.
Soi Dog picked me up for sterilisation but discovered I had a tumour that needed treatment first. It turned out to be TVT, a unique type of cancerous tumour that dogs can catch from contact with each other. Fortunately, it’s very treatable, and I soon made a full recovery.
Being a small and senior girl, the Soi Dog team knew I would struggle to make it on my own on the streets again and thought it would be best for me to stay at the shelter until I found a home.
I currently live in an enclosure with many other small dogs like me. If you’ve taken a tour of Soi Dog in recent years, you might have even met me yourself! I’m the girl with the big soulful eyes and the thick black eyeliner. Outside the comfort of my enclosure, I can be a little nervous and will stop walking when I feel unsure. However, I have my brave days. The photos above of me running free in the off-lead areas are a great example.
After a life spent on the streets and in a shelter, I’d love to find a home in time to enjoy my golden years, so please enquire below.
THE ADOPTION PROCESS

Initial enquiry
Submit an adoption enquiry, answering some initial questions about your family, lifestyle and ideal companion.
Interview
Join a video call with one of our adoption coordinators to help find your perfect match. Discuss the dog’s medical history, behavioural needs and more.
Home Assessment
Complete a home visit – either in person or virtually – with one of our staff or volunteers to ensure you have everything in place to welcome a rescue dog.
Adoption agreement
Sign the adoption agreement, confirming your commitment to the care of your chosen dog.
Travel arrangements
Let our logistics team arrange your dog’s journey to you. Collect your new best friend from a pre-arranged location and enjoy a lifetime of happiness together!
