Asami is asking for your patience and love

Hi! I’m Asami, shy and cautious yet goofy girl looking for a home.

When I was three months old, Soi Dog’s rescue officers found me and my siblings in a rubber plantation with unusually big bellies. They decided to bring us to the shelter for a checkup – and thank goodness they did! The vets discovered we’d eaten the latex sap from the trees, and it had compacted in our stomachs. We were rushed into surgery, which ultimately saved our lives.

Once we’d recovered, my siblings found homes, but I wasn’t so lucky and instead went on to grow up at the shelter. I’ve grown into quite an anxious girl who’s easily spooked. However, with the help of the behaviour team, I’m gradually gaining confidence and learning the joy of walks and belly rubs. The team love all of my little quirks – like my goofy facial expressions, my snaggletooth and my short tail – and are certain you will love them too!

I have little experience of the outside world, and the experience I did have was very difficult, so I will need your patience and love as I adjust to your home and family. In time, though, I know I will be your best and goofiest companion.
